Nutella is one of the most beloved hazelnut spreads in the world. And while you can find it in just about any grocery store, there’s something special about making your own Nutella at home.
But what if we told you that you could make your own cannabis-infused Nutella?
Yes, that’s right! You can now enjoy the taste of Nutella with a cannabis twist. This recipe is perfect for anyone who loves Nutella and wants to add a little bit of THC or CBD to their favorite hazelnut spread.
What is Nutella?
Have you ever had Nutella? If you haven’t, you’re missing out! Nutella is a chocolate and hazelnut spread that is absolutely delicious. It’s perfect for topping off your favorite desserts, or even just eating by the spoonful!
Nutella was created back in the 1960s in Alba, Italy. The man behind this amazing creation is Michele Ferrero. At the time, there was already a chocolate and hazelnut spread on the market, but Michele decided to create his own version. And we’re so glad he did!
The main ingredients in Nutella are sugar, palm oil, hazelnuts, cocoa powder, and skimmed milk powder. This might not sound like the healthiest combination, but it’s actually really delicious.
And don’t worry, there are plenty of healthy Nutella alternatives out there if you’re looking for something a little bit lighter.
If you’re looking to get high from eating raw cannabis, you’re out of luck. The plant material contains THCa, the precursor to THC, which must undergo a process called decarboxylation in order to become psychoactive.
Decarboxylation is simply the process of exposure to heat, time, and light, which activated the THC in cannabis. You can decarboxylate your cannabis at home by preheating your oven to 240 degrees Fahrenheit, grinding up your bud, and placing it in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
Once it’s done, you’ll be able to enjoy the psychoactive effects of THC!
One of the most important things to know when dosing cannabis edibles is that THC is absorbed differently when eaten as opposed to smoked. When you smoke or vape cannabis, THC enters your bloodstream through your lungs and you feel the effects almost immediately.
However, when you eat cannabis in the form of an edible, it has to be metabolized by your liver before it enters your bloodstream and this process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. This is why it’s important to start slow and low when trying cannabis edibles for the first time.
We always recommend starting with a small dose, especially if you’re new to cannabis edibles. A good rule of thumb is to start with 10mg of THC or less.
You can always take more, but you can’t take less once you’ve eaten the whole edible. It’s also important to remember that the effects of cannabis edibles can last anywhere from 4-12 hours, so it’s best to wait at least 2 hours before taking more.
Cannabis Coconut Oil or Cannabis Vegetable Oil
1. Choose your oil. Any type of oil will work for infusing cannabis, but some are better than others. For example, olive oil has a strong flavor that may not be to everyone’s liking. Coconut oil is another popular option, as it has a neutral taste and is also good for your health.
2. Decarb your weed. This is an essential step in making cannabis-infused oil, as it activates the THC. You can do this by spreading your ground cannabis on a baking sheet and cooking it in the oven at 220 degrees Fahrenheit for about 40 minutes.
3. Heat the oil. Pour your chosen oil into a saucepan and heat it over low heat. Do not let the mixture boil or simmer.
4. Add the cannabis. Once the oil is heated, add your decarbed weed to the mix. Stir occasionally.
5. Let it infuse. Allow the mixture to cook on low heat for 3 hours.
6. Strain the oil.

Next, add the hazelnuts to a food processor or blender and pulse until they’re finely ground. Then, add the coconut oil, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Pulse until everything is well combined.
The spread can be stored in a jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Enjoy it on toast, waffles, pancakes, or straight out of the jar!
Once the hazelnuts are roasted and cooled, place them in a blender or food processor with the canna oil, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Slowly melt the chocolate in a glass bowl over a pot of boiling water. Once melted, add it to the hazelnut mixture and blend until combined.
